Guerlain Arsene Lupin Dandy returns in 2012 with change in moniker: You read it here in a previous review, but it’s now confirmed that Guerlain’s Arsene Lupin set (Dandy and Voyou) will be returning in 2012 with a slight name change (seems someone might not have checked the trademarks on the first editions). The name “Dandy” will be dropped from the first fragrance, leaving it as Arsene Lupin. Arsene Lupin Voyou will simply return as Voyou. Anyone fortunate enough to have a first edition now has a collectible, although the fragrance is said to be unchanged, and packaging will change to remove “Dandy” from the reference.
New Tom Ford Private Blend Scents: In time for fall, Tom Ford has ‘expanded’ his fragrance and cosmetics line up (in actuality, he’s improved some lip treatments for longevity and added new scents, while removing a couple of popular colors to make way) to include two new scents geared toward the female market: Jasmine Rouge and Santal Blush. How you feel about either fragrance will depend on how you feel about Ford’s take on cosmetics and scent in general, but we’ll be posting a review of Jasmine Rouge in the next several days, so keep watching.
Start changing your bookmarks! The name of this site has changed, and you’ll likely begin to get referrals from the former “suburbanites.com” to “scentrist.com” (it’s only two syllables, but just as difficult to type). Instead of going through the hassle, update your bookmarks as the suburbanites.com linkage will shortly be closed down as the site is repurposed. We’re excited about the launch of the new name and have a ton of content to share on just the fragrance category alone (yes, we’ve been busy). Please keep watching as new reviews are posted daily — some are brand-new niche fragrances, and others might be ‘new to you’ established or off-the-beaten-path scents you might not yet have discovered.
