Good stuff here, Andrew! So sorry to hear about the loss of AA, one of my winter favorites. As for Secretions, good lord, it took me three days to get the scent out of my mind. Frightening stuff. Katie Puckrik described it as smelling "like a crime scene." Too true!

Hi Adrienne,
Yes, we — my wife and I — did try it. While it’s lovely, neither my wife or I found it to be $1,750 worth of lovely. And the flacon also has an atomizer — at least the replica shown me. It struck us as very derivative with fairly mediocre longevity for an EDP at its price-point.

Did you actually try Royal Service? It’s a beautiful fragrance. It comes in a large flacon, not an atomizer. Yes, it’s crazy-expensive, but it won’t be the first lovely scent that cost too much.

I am a scientist working in cosmetics area and recently developed an interest in “oud” which comes from a tree resin. I found the designs with the name oud beatiful and impressive. I can not evaluate the scent until I obtain one sample. Hoping that my project would also result in a good product with oud (scent of paradise).

Andrew, I did a side-by-side wearing of NY Amber and Harrods Amber and yup, they’re pretty much the same. I didn’t even notice a difference in strength or projection. I think it was re-branded to be sold in Saks as, of course, you couldn’t sell something in Saks that said Harrods. Good stuff though, really like this one with either label.
